Most students take the SAT during their junior or senior year of high school, and almost all colleges and universities use the SAT to make admission decisions..

Rush reporting is available for an additional fee. Through the Common Application website
; or Mailed on official school letterhead in a sealed and signed envelope; or Emailed from a clearly identifiable school email address; or Submitted using the NYU Predicted Results Form (have a school official do this).

And that reuse of test material has proved to be a major security hole..

The revised SAT returns to a 1,600 point scale from a 2,400 point scale by making the essay portion optional (like the ACT, although the scoring is different). Chewing gum enhances alertness for 20 minutes after you start chewing it. (or ACT)Barnard requires the SAT and 2 SAT Subject Tests OR ACT with Writing

Quite simply, this is the easiest step you can take to prepare yourself for either test, and should not be ignored under any circumstances..

In 2015, SAT administrators began shipping booklets to and from some test centers in lock boxes..

In 2013, it reduced the number of test administrations in South Korea, Egypt and Saudi Arabia after exams were stolen

We strongly encourage you to take practice tests that use actual questions from previous exams, as we have detected a material difference in the quality of the test questions prepared by the test writers and those written by the test prep companies.

To qualify by examination, you must achieve a minimum UC Score total — calculated according to the instructions below — of 410 (425 for nonresidents). “One-and-done forms, from a test validity point of view, is the best practice,” he said. The College Board has designed the test based on what colleges have said that students need to be able to do to succeed at the college level.

The scores on this test are used to determine National Merit Scholars.  This test is often offered directly through your high school.

The SAT is one of two admissions tests (the ACT being the other), often required for admission to US universities..

The Asian cram schools have prospered by exploiting what is perhaps the College Board’s biggest security weakness: its practice of taking questions and entire sections from tests that have been previously given in the United States and reusing them in later versions of the SAT, typically those offered overseas.
